How to install Anees TV on Windows

Microsoft Store, or the portable zip · Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit

Anees TV is an IPTV player. It ships with no channels, no movies and no subscription: you bring the M3U or Xtream Codes playlist you already have, and Anees plays it — the same app as on the TV, with mouse, keyboard and a window you can resize.

Two routes, and they install the same build. The Store keeps itself updated; the zip runs from a folder and needs no installer and no admin rights.

What you need

Route A — the Microsoft Store

  1. Open the listing. Go to apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NMHKQ349DKR, or open the Store app and search for Anees TV.
  2. Choose Get. Windows downloads and installs it like any other Store app, adds it to the Start menu, and updates it in the background from then on. Nothing to unzip and nothing to allow.

Route B — the portable zip

  1. Download the zip from aneestv.com/dl/windows.
  2. Unzip it properly. Right-click the file → Extract All… → pick a folder you own, such as C:\Users\you\Apps\AneesTV. Do not double-click the exe from inside the zip preview: Windows unpacks only that one file to a temporary folder, the libraries beside it are missing, and the app closes immediately.
  3. Run AneesTV.exe from the extracted folder. That is the whole install — the folder is self-contained, so you can move it to another drive or copy it to another PC and it still works.
  4. Make it easy to find. Right-click AneesTV.exeShow more optionsPin to Start, or Send to → Desktop (create shortcut).
  5. Add your playlist. Anees TV opens on Add your playlist. Choose Xtream Codes and fill in Playlist name, Server, Username and Password; or choose M3U URL and paste your M3U playlist URL. Press Save & load. On a PC you can paste, which makes this the easiest device to set a playlist up on — then turn on Settings → Sync and your TVs pull the same playlist down.
  6. Or look around first with Explore with a demo playlist — free, legal sample content, no account, no credentials.
  7. Updating the zip build. Download the new zip, extract it over the same folder and replace the files. Your playlists, favourites and settings are stored in your Windows user profile, not in that folder, so they survive.

Troubleshooting

Does Windows warn me about the download?

It should not. AneesTV.exe is code-signed with Azure Trusted Signing, so SmartScreen and Smart App Control recognise the publisher. If a "Windows protected your PC" box does appear — a brand-new build's reputation can take a little while to spread — choose More info and then Run anyway. You can check the file yourself first: right-click → PropertiesDigital Signatures should list AneesApps LLC.

The app opens and closes straight away

Nearly always step 2: the exe was launched from inside the zip, or only the exe was copied out of it. Extract the whole archive to a real folder and run it from there.

Black picture, or no sound

Update your graphics driver first — this is a hardware-accelerated video window, so an ancient Intel or AMD driver shows exactly these two symptoms. Then, in Settings → Video decoding, try Hardware — compatible, and if a single title still fails, switch engine from the player's top bar to Compatible.

A stream will not start, or "couldn't reach the server"

Test the same link in a browser on the same PC. If the browser cannot reach it either, it is the provider, your network or your region, not Anees TV — see the Xtream Codes guide for the four errors that account for most of these.
