How to add an M3U or M3U8 playlist to Anees TV

What the link is, what it can and cannot carry, and how refresh works

Anees TV is an IPTV player and ships with no channels or media of its own. An M3U playlist is the plainest way to give it something to play: one link, and everything your provider wants to expose comes down it.

M3U or M3U8 — is there a difference?

For this purpose, no. Both are the same plain-text list of channel names and stream URLs; .m3u8 just declares that the file is UTF-8, which matters for Arabic, Turkish and Kurdish channel names. Whichever extension your provider uses, paste it as it is. Anees TV does not care about the extension — it reads what the server actually returns.

A link, not a saved file

The field is called M3U playlist URL and it means it: Anees TV fetches your list over the network every time it refreshes, so the entry has to start with http:// or https://. A .m3u file sitting in your Downloads folder or on a USB stick cannot be picked — that is deliberate, not missing. If a file is all you have, either put it somewhere reachable over HTTP, or ask your provider for the Xtream login instead and use the Xtream Codes guide.

What your link probably looks like

Most panels generate something in this shape:

http://example-provider.com:8080/get.php?username=USER&password=PASS&type=m3u_plus&output=ts

Adding it

  1. Open Anees TV. A fresh install starts on Add your playlist; afterwards use Settings → Playlists → Add playlist (M3U URL or Xtream Codes).
  2. Pick the M3U URL tab, give it a Playlist name for yourself, and paste the whole link into M3U playlist URL — no line breaks, nothing trimmed off the end.
  3. Press Save & load. On a PC or phone you can paste; on a TV, either use the phone-as-remote keyboard or set the playlist up on a phone and turn on Settings → Sync so the TV pulls it down.

Why posters and the TV guide can be missing

A bare M3U line is a name and a URL. Nothing in it says what season an episode belongs to, when a programme starts, or what a film is rated — so on a thin playlist there is genuinely nothing for the app to show. Anees TV fills what it can from TMDB by matching titles, and shows the guide when your provider publishes one. An Xtream login carries far more: categories, series broken into seasons and episodes, and the EPG the panel already holds. If your library looks bare on M3U, that is the upgrade to ask your provider for.

Keeping the list current

Providers add and drop channels constantly, and an M3U link is a snapshot until it is fetched again.

Troubleshooting

"The link responded, but not with an M3U playlist"

The server answered with something else — a login page, an error page, or a panel's "subscription expired" notice. Open the same link in a browser: what you see there is what the app got.

"Couldn't load the M3U playlist"

Check the link is complete and starts with http:// or https://. A URL copied out of a chat app is often cut short, or has gained a stray space in the middle.

Channels are all in one giant unsorted group

Your link is type=m3u rather than type=m3u_plus. Change that one word and refresh.

Everything loads but one channel will not play

Individual streams go down all the time. Try another; wait a minute if you have just switched players, since that can trip your provider's connection limit; and if the picture stutters rather than refusing, pick the FHD version and switch engine from the top bar to Compatible.
