How to install Anees TV on a Fire TV Stick

Anees TV is an IPTV player. It ships with no channels, no movies and no subscription — you bring the playlist you already have, and Anees plays it with a proper TV guide, posters and a remote-first interface. Some people write the name Anis TV or أنيس تي في; it is the same app.

Amazon's own Appstore does not carry Anees TV yet, so on Fire TV you install it the way Fire TV owners install most side apps: with the free Downloader app and a short numeric code.

What you need

• A Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube or a Fire TV Edition television, on Wi-Fi.
• Your Amazon account signed in on the device (the Appstore needs it).
• Your own playlist — either an M3U / M3U8 link or an Xtream Codes login (Server, Username, Password) from the provider you already pay.
• Nothing at all, if you just want to look around first: the app has a built-in demo playlist of free, legal sample clips.

Install it, step by step

1. Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore. From the Fire TV home screen open Find → Search, type Downloader, and install the orange app by AFTVnews. It is a normal, free Appstore app — nothing is being sideloaded yet.
2. Let Downloader install apps. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps and switch Downloader to ON. On older Fire OS builds the same switch is called Apps from Unknown Sources. Skip this and the install stops with a security warning later, which is the single most common reason people give up.
3. Open Downloader and type the code. In the Home tab there is a URL box. Enter 2228177 and press Go. That is the permanent AFTVnews short code for Anees TV, and it resolves to aneestv.com/dl/tv — this site, the same file the Devices section on our home page serves.
4. Install the app. Downloader fetches about 100 MB, then Fire OS shows its installer screen. Choose Install, wait, then Open. When Downloader offers to Delete the downloaded file, say yes — the app is already installed and the file is just taking up space.
5. Add your playlist. Anees TV opens on Add your playlist. Choose Xtream Codes and fill in Playlist name, Server, Username and Password; or choose M3U URL and paste your M3U playlist URL. Then press Save & load.
6. Or start with the demo. Not ready to type credentials on a TV remote? Pick Explore with a demo playlist instead. It loads free, legal sample content so you can judge the interface, then add your own playlist whenever you like.
7. Find Anees TV again later. The app lands at the end of your Apps & Channels row. Move it to the front row from the Fire TV home screen so you are not hunting for it every evening.

Troubleshooting

The install was blocked, or Fire TV says it is "for your security"

Step 2 was skipped or the toggle turned itself back off after a Fire OS update. Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps → Downloader → ON, then press Go on the code again.

There is no "Developer options" entry in Settings

Newer Fire OS builds hide it until you ask for it. Open Settings → My Fire TV → About, highlight Fire TV Stick and click it seven times; the menu appears one level up.

The picture stutters, tears, or plays frame by frame

A Fire TV Stick is a small, low-memory box — in the worst case it hands the app a 960×540 surface and very little headroom, so a 4K or high-bitrate stream can be more than it can decode. Open the ⓘ info panel during playback: if decoding reads Software, the device is struggling. Play the FHD/1080p version of the same channel, and switch engine from the top bar to Compatible. Separately, set Settings → Video decoding → Hardware — fast: it forces the zero-copy decoder, which is the real fix for stutter on a Fire TV Stick.

A stream will not start, or "couldn't reach the server"

Usually the provider or that one stream is offline, or your network blocks it. Try another channel, wait a minute — switching players too quickly can trip your provider's connection limit — or use a VPN. If nothing loads at all, re-check the server address and credentials in the Xtream Codes guide.

Typing a long URL with the remote is painful

Install Amazon's free Fire TV app on your phone and use it as the remote: the phone keyboard types into the same fields. Or turn on sync on a phone first and let the TV pull the playlist down.
