Anees TV — Open-source software

For Anees TV 1.6.1 · Last updated: 16 October 2026

Anees TV is made by AneesApps LLC. It is not open-source software, but it is built with open-source libraries, and we are grateful to the people who write them. This page lists the native libraries inside the Android and Windows apps, the exact version of each, its licence, and where to get its source code. The same notices, with the full licence texts, are in the app under Settings → About → Open source licenses.

1. Your rights

2. Source code (LGPL and MPL components)

Below is the complete corresponding source code for every LGPL library in Anees TV 1.6.1, with the build scripts and patches used to make the binaries, as archives we keep in our own source release, next to the upstream project each comes from.

Written offer. For at least three years after we last distribute a version of Anees TV, anyone may ask AneesApps LLC for the complete corresponding source code of its LGPL components at support@aneestv.com. We will send it for no more than our cost of performing the distribution.

FFmpeg in libffmpeg.so (Android) and ffmpeg-9.dll (Windows)

FFmpeg git commit 8e9db1f (10 October 2026), built by the avbuild project for the mdk-sdk, which Anees TV uses through the fvp package. LGPL 2.1 or later. avbuild applies its own patches to FFmpeg; they are in the avbuild archive.

libffmpegJNI.so (Android): FFmpeg audio decoders

FFmpeg n8.1.3, unmodified, with only its audio decoders (AAC, AC-3, E-AC-3, DTS, MP2, MP3), built by us and statically linked with the AndroidX Media3 FFmpeg extension (Apache 2.0) into this one library. LGPL 2.1 or later. Our build kit contains the build script, the JNI code and the exact configure flags, so you can rebuild the library against your own FFmpeg.

libmpv.so (Android)

mpv commit 78d4374 with, statically, FFmpeg 6.0, FriBidi 1.0.12, libass 0.17.1, HarfBuzz 7.2.0, FreeType 2.13.0, Mbed TLS 3.4.0, dav1d 1.2.0, libxml2 2.10.3 and zlib, built by the media_kit project (libmpv-android-video-build v1.1.7) without mpv's GPL parts. FFmpeg in it is configured as LGPL version 3, so the library as a whole is LGPL 3.0 or later. The build repository's patches to mpv and FFmpeg are in its archive.

libmpv-2.dll (Windows)

mpv commit 652a1dd with, statically, FFmpeg 6.0 and the libraries listed in section 3, built by the media_kit project (libmpv-win32-video-build, release of 24 September 2023) without mpv's GPL parts. The library as a whole is LGPL 3.0 or later. Its LGPL parts besides mpv and FFmpeg are FriBidi, GNU libiconv 1.17, libsoxr 0.1.3 and uchardet (which offers the LGPL 2.1 among its three licences; we use it under the LGPL).

libass.so (Android) and libass.dll (Windows)

libass (ISC licence) from the mdk-sdk, with FriBidi 1.0.13 (LGPL 2.1 or later, unmodified), HarfBuzz and FreeType statically inside.

dbus (Dart package, MPL 2.0)

The Dart package dbus 0.7.14 is under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and is unmodified. Source: dbus-0.7.14.tar.gz — upstream pub.dev/packages/dbus.

Checksums of every archive are in SHA256SUMS in the same source release.
