Anees TV stores almost everything on your device. What reaches our server is
(1) your household (the cloud-sync account), only if you turned sync on, with an
optional email; (2) anonymous usage & crash reports, which you can turn off;
(3) a problem report, only when you send one; (4) a free-trial key,
only while we offer a free trial; and (5) a purchase record, if you buy Pro. Here is
what you can delete, and what we keep and why.
Fastest — delete in the app
- Open Anees TV → Settings → Sync.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
This permanently deletes your household and everything stored
with it, for every device in it (the full list is below). Only the household’s owner device
shows Delete account; on any other device, Turn off sync on this
device takes that device out and frees its place without touching anyone else’s
data. Deleting the account does not cancel a paid subscription — cancel it
where you bought it (the app tells you where).
Or request deletion by email
If you can't use the app, email support@aneestv.com
with the subject "Delete my account and data", from the email you added to your
household (or include your sync code). We will permanently delete your account and its data within
30 days and confirm when it's done.
What gets deleted
- Your synced data — profiles, favorites, watch progress and playlist details
(stored encrypted), including the backup copy we keep of it.
- Your devices — the household’s device list (model names, platforms, last
sync times), the names you gave devices, the list of devices the owner removed, and the
“same device” hints that let a reinstall keep its place.
- Your email and sign-ins — the household’s email keys (the one-way hash,
the encrypted copy of the address and its shortened form), the encrypted copy of your sync code
kept for recovery, any one-time codes still waiting, and the record of sign-ins and owner changes.
A TV sign-in still in progress is cancelled.
- Your Pro status on our server — the household’s Pro record, the keys that
let your Google Play devices join without typing the code, and the “+5 devices”
add-on’s link to the household. (The purchase record itself is kept; see below.)
All of this is deleted permanently and cannot be recovered. Encrypted backups of our database
are kept for up to 12 months and are used only to restore the service after a failure; deleted
data disappears from them as they expire. We also delete a household
automatically when it never received any synced data and no device has used it for
30 days, as long as it has no email and was never used for a purchase.
Anonymous data that is not “yours” to delete
Some data is never linked to your household, so deleting the household does not
touch it, and most of it carries nothing that identifies you or your device — there is nothing
we could find and delete for you. It is removed on a schedule instead.
- Skip points — a series’ TMDB id, season, episode and a moment in
it, used to time the skip-intro and next-episode prompts. Deleted after two
years.
- Watch stats and the daily device and usage report — for example whether
a play was a channel, a film or an episode and whether it was watched to the end, with no titles,
ids, account or device identifier. Deleted after 90 days.
- Product counters — counts such as “one more first launch”,
by device type. Deleted after at most 400 days.
- Crash reports carry a random install number, not your household. Turning off
“Share anonymous usage & crash reports” in Settings stops all future reports,
wipes anything queued on your device and deletes that install number, so nothing sent later can
be tied to the old reports. Past reports are deleted after 90 days.
- Problem reports you sent from the app are not linked to your household and are
deleted after 180 days.
What we keep, and why
- Purchase records — the store’s transaction identifier, the product,
the date and the household identifier it was bought for (no name, email or payment details). We
keep them for our accounting, for refunds and so a purchase can be restored. They are not deleted
with the account; email us and we will delete them or send you a copy.
- Free-trial keys — on Android and Windows, a one-way salted hash of the
device’s built-in ID, stored with which free trial it received and when (no account, no IP
address). They were never linked to your household, so deleting the household cannot reach them.
We keep them after the trial ends so the same device cannot start the same free trial again.
What was never sent to us
Your playlists, credentials, downloads, favorites and history (when sync is off) live only
on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all of it on phones, TVs, iPhone and
iPad, and with the Microsoft Store version. On Windows, the installer’s uninstall asks whether
to remove it too (version 1.8.7 and later); with the portable zip or an older version, delete
%APPDATA%\AneesApps LLC\Anees TV. On a Mac, also delete the app’s folder in
~/Library/Containers. There's nothing on our side to delete.
